The one-year anniversary of our move into our little Lexington townhouse is fast approaching, and we’ve focused on making the place our own.
We love starting a new year, and nothing sparks an ear-to-ear grin faster than a chat about where we’d like to go next. So what is it about travel that makes us smile?
It’s nearly Christmas Eve – my favorite day of the year. The wonderful combination of childhood anticipation of things to come, paired with the adult relief of a few days off, is total bliss. Around our house it’s time for old movies, sing-along music, and special foods.
I fell in love with Hawaii when I was a kid growing up in small-town Ohio … thanks to my Dad. He loved all things Hawaiian, but his passion was the music. He would hum, sing, or whistle his way through all the popular Hawaiian songs of the day.
Last night we had one of those long, cleansing summer storms, complete with deep, rolling thunder and eye-clenching lightning. You know the kind. And when you get up the next morning, the whole world looks fresh and new.
