We’ve always been fascinated by doorways and what they have to say. It doesn’t take an architect or etymologist to know that the facade is the face of a building, and if this is so, then the door can be the beguiling lipstick that enchants visitors.
Our first trip to Europe was a whirlwind, 14-day, 6-country Eurail Pass-stoked attempt to see and do everything. Those were the days of boundless energy, endless curiosity, limited time, and scarce funds.
We love wandering around Europe, particularly the regions less visited. So the past few years we’ve focused on traveling throughout Eastern Europe, the Baltic States, and the Balkans.
As travelers we all know that photos can launch a thousand dreams, catapult us to faraway places, and awaken our human compassion. Travel photos are the eyes that let us connect across this wide, wonderful world.

As travel bloggers, photography is a fun hobby for us, and we do our best to include interesting shots that enhance our posts. Like all photographers, we have favorite photos, and it’s always nice to have an opportunity to show them off.
In less than a week we’re going to take our first overseas trip since coming back from the RTW in April. Wow! Time sure does fly. In that time we swanned around for a couple of months, bought a condo, moved our stuff from Charleston, and knuckled-down to a grueling renovation. Whew!
