On a crisp Fall day with clear, azure skies it’s hard to take a bad photo – but I’m having no luck. It’s “Blue on Blue.” My subject seems to blend right into the sky and nearly disappear – except for the white icing and sparkly bits.
When visiting a city for the first time, it’s hard to know what to expect … but something has drawn you there. The inspiration could be the city’s grand architecture and incredible museums, or world class dining and amazing entertainment.
What we needed was a short stop to transform the long Krakow to Budapest train trip into 2 shorter, more pleasant rides. The city had to be an interesting, low-stress kind of place, that we hadn’t visited before.
Experimenting with local foods is one of the enjoyable novelties that makes travel fun, but most travelers encounter the same conundrum. If you find a restaurant with an English menu, it’s frequently a tourist trap with mediocre, overpriced food.
Autumn is one of our favorite times to visit Europe, and this week we’re heading out again.
