  1. seeing this image takes me back to my childhood when my father would sit in his office and type at what seemed like lightning speed. he was also a morse code ‘specialist,’ and i think the dat=dat=dit of the typewriter gave him comfort.

    i see the typewriter, and i also think about a tired old ribbon in need of replacement, yet if one was patient, the old one could be rewound and carefully used – especially for the red…

    the newer generation of computer users should be required to type a perfect document with carbon copy!

    1. What a great memory of your Dad, Lisa! I bet the dat=dat=dit of the typewriter was a comfort to him. I’ve always had great admiration for morse coders – it seems such a wonderful, secret language – kind of like the old shorthand that was used. I remember learning how to type on a typewriter like this – I must admit I was lousy. So many mistakes! But my Mom was a wizard, and would send her flying fingers across the keyboard lickety-split! 🙂 I took this photo in Hawaii in an old shop. It sure brought back the memories. ~TErri
