Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone!
Every year we hunt for hearts with our cameras, looking for them in nature and architecture. And sometime we don’t even realize we captured a heart until after we take the photo.
We found a few new hearts this year.
And we did manage to capture one final … hart!
Have a lovely Valentine’s Day!
Terri & James
How cute! You’ll have to stop by Matsue Castle someday, then. This region is already very excited about matchmaking as it is, but at some point someone noticed a heart in the natural wood grain of one of the 400 year old pillars inside the castle. It’s just add more fuel to the fire, you could say.
Thanks Brittany. I would love to see Matsue Castle … and the hidden heart just makes it more appealing. 🙂 I found a great site with hearts found in nature – some of them are amazing! ~Terri
Splendid!
Many thanks Sudapoedia! 🙂 ~Terri
I am hoping that you have saved my day with this post. I clean forgot it was Valentine’s Day until Kim gave me a card earlier and I wondered how I was going to deal with my memory lapse and then I saw your post and remembered our visit to Wroclaw and that I had a picture of the gnome with the heart. One home made card later and I am hoping that it will hit the spot! Thanks.
Narrow escape there, Andrew! 🙂 Good thinking!
Thanks Jo – I think I just got away with it but will now have to buy a bigger present than I originally planned – perhaps some flight tickets back to Poland rather than a gift from Poundland!
🙂
Kim could never resist a gnome card, Andrew! And it sounds like the tickets back to Poland should seal the deal … or maybe somewhere warm! 🙂 Glad I could help. ~Terri
What a lovely idea, you two 🙂 (excuse my butting in there with Andrew- self discipline isn’t my forte 😦 )
Love the votives, and the hart, of course 🙂
Thanks Jo – I love it when everyone chimes in! I’m such a fan of those wonderful votives found in so many cultures – I guess they’re like your Hands of Fatima in Portugal. Do they also have votives? ~Terri
I haven’t seen anything as ornate as these, Terri, but ordinary ones, yes 🙂
What a neat idea for your post. Hoping everyone has a wonderful day today!
Thank you Laura! I was thinking about your great photography when I pulled these photos together and wondered if you encounter hearts in nature or architecture? ~Terri
I’m going to have to start looking for them, I love (no pun intended) the idea!
Nice post. Luckily, we’re in Paris now so it doesn’t need too much extra romance today. However, with Leslie’s birthday tomorrow, the pressure is on.
Happy hearts day, everyone x
Thanks Steve – how romantic to live in Paris on Valentines Day! Does it get any better than that? So you’re back from England – hope it was a great visit and wedding. Please wish Leslie Happy Birthday from us. !Terri
Love these hearts, especially the first one! Happy Valentine’s Day to both of you!
Many thanks Rusha. That heart at the beach always makes me smile. 🙂 ~Terri
There’s that tree again in a different guise 😉 Have a lovely day both..
So glad that you recognized the Beach Totem, Suzanne! The “decorators” (and their dogs) really go all out for Valentines Day. 🙂 Hope you enjoy your day, too. ~Terri
What a cute post! Wishing you both a Happy Valentines Day too! Where was the photo of the door taken in the second last shot? The metal work is amazing.
Thanks Sue. I took that photo in New Orleans in the Garden District – fell in love with it the minute I set eyes on it. The funny thing is I was photographing something across the street (a giant gourd spray-painted gold – another story) and when I turned around and saw the gate, all I could say was, “Oh Wow!” 🙂 Do you and Dave have something special planned today? ~Terri
Sometimes the best photos catch one by surprise. I love how you happened across this one. Dave is off to work and I off to spin class. This evening we are hanging out with our ‘kids’. Call us a loving group 🙂 How about you and James?
Sue, that’s so great that you’re hanging out with your kids. You’re such great parents and role models. As for us, it’s homemade pizza – heart-shaped! 🙂 ~T
You too! (Although my thoughts did go in rather gruesome directions when I read the title but that’s probably just me.)
Thanks Bronwyn. Hope you have a great Valentine’s Day! ~Terri
Well, nobody’s turned up with international offal yet 😉
But seriously, you too. I’ve just spent too long at work today, is all 🙂
Beautiful Hearts. Happy Valentine’s Day to you love birds.
Awww Joyce, thank you! What are you two love birds up to on this fine Valentines Day … or are you snowed in? Love, Terri & James
What a nice idea. I had to look hard before I spotted the one on the gate. 🙂
Thank you Elaine. You’re right, the heart in the gate is certainly more subtle, but it sure made me smile when I spotted it. 🙂 ~Terri
Wonderful idea! Happy Valentine’s Day!
Thanks Amy. Have you captured any hearts in your beautiful photography? ~Terri
Happy heart day. These photos are gorgeous, especially the gate. How handsome.
Thanks a bunch! I saw the gate when I was strolling in New Orleans – it was love at first sight! 🙂 ~Terri
Well, that gate is something.
Tess
Ah, you two… hopeless romantics. 🙂 Happy Valentines Day. –Curt
Thank you Curt. Our family would definitely agree with you – especially the hopeless part! 🙂 Hope you and Peggy had a great day too. ~T&J
That we did. 🙂
Lovely! 🙂
Thank you Pam. Now if we could just get some of your cute little otters to hold up a heart! 🙂 ~Terri
Love that idea!
Great post! Hope you two lovebirds had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. 🙂
Thanks LuAnn. Looks like you and Terry are in the Everglades – such a fascinating place. Hope you had a lovely Valentines day with your sweetheart. 🙂 ~Terri
We did! Thanks Terri. 🙂
What a great idea! Fun post!
Thanks Naomi. We have such fun hunting for hearts. I seem to see them in everything – cloud formations, etc! 🙂 ~Terri
Very sweet, Terri. We always seem to find what we are looking for, don’t we?
Happy Heart’s Day, Terri & James! I love the sentiment of searching for signs of love in unlikely places. Your post reminded me of Drew Barrymore’s recent photography book that’s nothing but hearts she’s uncovered hiding in her own daily life (called “Find It In Everything”). It might be worth a flip-through the next time you’re in a bookstore!
Thanks Miranda. I will check out Drew’s book. I found a great site with hearts found in nature – some of them are amazing! ~Terri
